On the styling front, the Shineray X30L EV retains the brand's signature upright, boxy van silhouette, prioritising straightforward utilitarian functionality. Up front, the corporate fascia incorporates horizontal chrome trims (with select variants sporting a twin-kidney grille design), flanked by halogen headlamps and front fog lamps for a sturdy, no-nonsense road presence. Along the sides, clean, functional body lines are complemented by dual sliding doors, facilitating effortless passenger access and cargo loading in tight urban alleys and loading bays. Around the back, vertical LED tail lamps, a reverse camera, and rear parking sensors combine practicality with added safety.
Step inside, and the X30L EV strictly adheres to a "form-follows-function" ethos, dominated by durable hard plastics and an all-black interior scheme. The dashboard is cleanly laid out, featuring a standard colour touchscreen infotainment system with basic multimedia and navigation capabilities, alongside a simplified plastic steering wheel. For seating, the 4.495-metre passenger variant adopts a 2+2+3 seven-seater layout with individual faux-leather captain seats in the second row, which can be folded down entirely to expand luggage capacity. Overall, the cabin emphasizes hard-wearing utility and effortless cleaning, in keeping with its commercial workhorse DNA.
The Shineray X30L EV range features a rear-motor, rear-wheel-drive (RWD) layout powered by a permanent magnet synchronous motor. It delivers a rated power of 30 kW, a peak output of 60 kW (approx. 82 PS), and peak torque of 220 Nm. Power delivery is smooth and progressive, with instantaneous low-end torque well-suited for stop-and-go urban logistics. Depending on the variant, top speed ranges between 90 km/h and 100 km/h (capped at 90 km/h for cargo versions and 100 km/h for passenger models). It can handle a maximum gradeability of 20°, sufficient for city driving and light unpaved road conditions.
Under the floor, two battery options are offered. The 4.2-metre variant gets a ternary lithium battery pack sourced from BAK, delivering 35.25 kWh capacity and an energy density of 140. The 4.495-metre variant packs a lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery from CATL with a capacity of 41.86 kWh (a 41.68 kWh pack is also available on cargo variants) and an energy density of 137.6. Both configurations achieve an official CLTC rated range of 305 km (with the cargo version matching 305 km unladen), while real-world urban delivery range settles at around 240 km. Both DC fast charging and AC slow charging are supported; DC fast charging from 30% to 80% takes around 45 minutes (or 35-40 minutes from 20% to 80%), while a standard 220V AC household charge takes between 8 and 10 hours. An energy-efficient heat pump air-conditioning system comes standard across the board, mitigating the winter heating penalty on driving range.
Underneath, the X30L EV is built upon a monocoque chassis structure. Up front, it rides on a MacPherson strut independent suspension, paired with a heavy-duty longitudinal leaf spring non-independent rear setup (5-leaf layout)—a staple configuration in the commercial van sector that prioritises durability and maximum load capacity. The rear leaf springs handle heavy payloads effortlessly, giving the cargo version a rated payload capacity of up to 990 kg and a GVW of 2.51 tonnes. Stopping power is managed by front ventilated discs and rear drum brakes, supplemented by Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) and Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD) as standard. Steering comes via either Electric Power Steering (EPS) or hydraulic power steering depending on trim, offering light steering action for effortless city manoeuvring. Rolling stock consists of standard 175/70R14C commercial-grade tyres on steel wheels for lower replacement costs and high wear resistance. Generous ground clearance also ensures decent rough-road traversability, perfectly catering to suburban and semi-rural logistics routes.
Cabin amenities focus squarely on daily operational practicality. The dashboard is fitted with a standard colour touchscreen that houses multimedia playback, Bluetooth hands-free connectivity, navigation, and reverse camera display. Higher-spec passenger trims gain a larger touchscreen and enhanced infotainment features. A reverse camera and rear parking sensors are standard across most of the lineup (optional on select entry cargo trims), easing parking in tight spots.
Convenience equipment includes manual air conditioning, power windows all around, remote central locking, and front USB charging ports. The driver enjoys tilt steering adjustment and multi-way manual seat adjustment. In 7-seater passenger variants, the second-row individual faux-leather seats offer fore-and-aft sliding and reclining backrests, whilst the third row can be split-folded or flipped aside to allow flexible "people-and-cargo" configurations. For pure commercial duties, the cargo panel van maximizes load volume with an internal cargo depth of 2.51 metres, width of 1.475 metres, and height of 1.35 metres, offered in either 4-seater (with second-row seating) or 2-seater (with a fully partitioned bulkhead) configurations. Audio is piped through a basic 2 to 4-speaker sound system.
In terms of safety, the X30L EV covers essential active safety requirements for its segment. ABS and EBD come standard across all variants to prevent wheel lockup under emergency braking and balance braking forces. On the passive safety front, baseline trims lack airbags, though dual front driver and passenger airbags are available as paid optional extras. The body utilizes a high-strength safety cage construction with reinforced high-tensile steel in critical load-bearing zones.
For driver assistance, rear parking sensors and a reverse camera come standard, with select trims featuring 3 rear sensor probes to minimise blind spots. Also available are a Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) (optional on select trims) and power-adjustable wing mirrors. ISOFIX child seat anchors and speed-sensing automatic door locks are standard. Advanced driver-assist systems (ADAS) such as Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) and Lane Keeping Assist (LKA) are absent, keeping driver assistance at a basic L0 to L1 level. The vehicle has not undergone third-party crash testing such as C-NCAP, with safety validation adhering strictly to commercial vehicle standards.
The Shineray X30L EV has carved out a solid footprint in both the domestic Chinese commercial EV sector and overseas export markets. Domestically, Shineray Auto Co., Ltd. recorded 39,421 units of NEV sales in 2025. The X30L EV has maintained robust market competitiveness in the urban electric delivery segment, securing major fleet deals with logistics giants like SF Express—cumulative fleet deliveries to SF Express have surpassed 6,000 units (a fivefold increase from initial fleet numbers), accounting for 70% of SF Express's vehicle procurement in 2025. Industry registration figures revealed that nationwide sales of new energy micro/mini commercial trucks hit 16,700 units in April 2025 alone, surging 96% year-on-year.
On the global stage, the X30L EV's export performance has been particularly impressive, reaching nearly 10 countries including Germany, Poland, Spain, Russia, South Korea, and Singapore. In South Korea, the Shineray X30L EV series clinched top market share in the light commercial EV sector, emerging as a go-to choice for urban last-mile deliveries. The model has also gained strong traction across "Belt and Road" markets such as Vietnam and Uzbekistan—with Shineray Auto commanding a dominant 30.1% market share in Vietnam's micro commercial vehicle segment, overtaking Suzuki to take the crown.
Owner reviews frequently praise the X30L EV for its generous cargo utility (around 3 m³ load volume with a flat-floor design), ultra-low running costs (roughly RM0.06 / 0.1 RMB per kilometre), and the convenience of being drivable on a standard car driving licence. Conversely, user feedback highlights areas for refinement, notably the heavy reliance on hard plastics inside the cabin, firm rear suspension unladen ride quality, and isolated reports of electrical/powertrain teething issues. In the broader scope of the brand, the Shineray X30L EV marks a pivotal milestone in Shineray Auto's transformation from a conventional ICE van builder into a "global leader in smart new energy multi-purpose vehicles". With its proven CATL LFP battery pack, rock-bottom operating costs, and commendable international sales traction, it sets a solid, repeatable benchmark for Chinese commercial EVs competing on the world stage.
